Four Foods on Friday #31

  • May. 25th, 2008 at 11:44 PM

Only a couple days late this time!

#1. What is your favorite food that is cooked on the barbeque?

I love mostly everything grilled, but there's something about a hot dog on the grill that I just can't resist.

#2. What veggies, if any, do you cook on the barbeque?

Potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, asparagus.

#3. Tell us a little about your barbeque habits. Who grills, how often, what months, etc.

My husband does most of the grilling, but I'll oversee stuff that takes a long time, like beer can chicken, pork roasts, etc. During the summer, we try to grill out a few times a week. We grill all year long; not too much in the winter, but we'll occasionally do it if it's not bitter cold and there's no wind.

#4. Share a barbeque recipe

Best asparagus ever:

Mix one envelope of Lipton's Herb & Garlic soup mix with 1/4 cup or so of olive oil. Put trimmed asparagus in a large ziploc and add soup mixture. Shake well, then empty asparagus into a disposable foil pan and cover with foil. Cook over indirect heat for about 10 minutes.

Oh that asparagus looks good! I forgot to add that to my list of favorite grilled veggies.
