Four Foods on Friday #36

  • Jun. 30th, 2008 at 1:41 AM

I haven't done this in a while, so since I won't have internet access for a couple weeks, I decided to get back on track.

#1. Name your biggest cooking influence.

I'd have to say a woman named Phyllis. She was my mom's best friend when I was growing up. When I was 16, she employed me as her mother's helper for the summer. I was in awe when she would just pull stuff out of her fridge and cupboards, throw some spices and seasonings on it, and she'd end up with a delicious meal. I wanted to be able to do that when I grew up, and for the most part, I think I can.

#2. What is your ultimate comfort food?

Thanksgiving dinner.

#3. Name one must have tool that you think every kitchen should have.

A KitchenAid mixer. Couldn't live without mine!

#4. Share a time saving tip.

Plan out your meals and make a grocery list before heading out to the store. It takes a little time and effort, but definitely pays off.

I wish I had a Kitchen-Aid mixer. Maybe one of these days I'll get one for Christmas.

Mmm Thanksgiving dinner. Funny how it just doesn't taste the same any other time of year!

Oh yes. A list is a must for me. I buy too much stuff that I don't need if I don't use a list and stick to it. Have a great 4th of July.

I find it very helpful to shop with a list.
Thanks for playing FFOF.
Stumbled.

One of my most favorite appliances! I've had it for probably 10-12 years, and never had a problem with it.

Hee! I'm not into the big sins, but envy pops up sometimes. I'd probably try to put that Kitchen Aid under my shirt and make a fast getaway with it if I ever came to visit you. :-D
